Recurrent infections are a widespread global health problem in paediatric and adult patients. Treatment, usually with antibiotics, can lead to the development of antibiotic and antimicrobial resistance, leading to more difficult-to-treat infections and increased mortality.
Recurrent urinary tract infections (rUTIs) represent the most common cause of bacterial infection and affect 5-10% of women.
Micro-organisms with the highest aetiological incidence:
- Escherichia coli.
- Staphylococcus saprophyticus.
- Enterococcus faecalis.
- Klebsiella pneumoniae.
- Proteus mirabilis.
How do vaccine treatments defend us?
- Broader protection. It confers broader protection, not only against the pathogens contained in vaccines, but also against any other pathogens.
- Activation of innate immune cells. Improving host defense by developing a trained immunity.
- Enhancing the immune response. Improves the function of both innate and adaptive immune responses.
- Generate immunological memory. In the medium and long term in the individual.
